Derek Getzel Wins at Brutaal; Earns Shot At Strikeforce

Derek Getzel defeated Johnny Case last night at Brutaal MMA event held at Epic in Minneapolis.  The victory earns Getzel a shot at a future Strikeforce event.

Brutaal To Crown First Heavyweight Champion

On January 15, Brutaal will crown their first-ever heavyweight champion.  The event will be held at Epic in Minneapolis.  Showtime is 7 PM.

The title will be placed around the winner of the final in the 4-man heavyweight tournament, which began on November 25.  Kevin Asplund (7-1) will take on Heath Roth to see who will be the first Brutaal Heavyweight Champion.  Asplund defeated Cameron Befort by first round submission in one semifinal of the tournament to get the opportunity. Josh Henry defeated Roth on the same night, but was not able to compete for the title.
