Namajunas Returns To Invicta FC Cage

Undefeated Twin Cities-based fighter +Rose Namajunas returns to the cage tonight in Kansas City at +Invicta Fighting Championships 6. Fighting at strawweight, Namajunas (2-0) faces another undefeated fighter in Tecia Torres who trains at American Top Team in Florida.



Rose NamajunasThe event is headlined by a rematch between Cris "Cyborg" Justino (11-1) and Marloes Coenen (21-5) for the Invicta FC Featherweight title. The pair fought for the Strikeforce title in January 2010 with Cyborg winning by third round TKO.

Torres (2-0) holds unanimous decision victories over Kaiyana Rain (0-2) and 19-year old prospect Paige VanZant (3-1). Torres was undefeated as an amateur at 7-0.

A native of Milwaukee, Namajunas trains at The Academy in Brooklyn Center. She has two submission victories fighting for Invicta FC, including a spectacular :12 flying armbar against Kathina Catron in April. Namajunas, who just turned 21-years old, defeated veteran Emily Kagan by third round submission (rear naked choke) in her professional debut.
