Wiuff gets new opponent

International Fighting Organization light heavyweight champion Travis Wiuff (48-11) was originally scheduled to defend his title against veteran Cyrille Diabate at the IFO’s “Fireworks in the Cage IV” event. The event is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 28 at the Riviera in Las Vegas.

Diabate recently suffered a broken ankle during training and will not be able to fight. Steele Cage Promotions, the parent company of the IFO, has found a replacement. Green Bay native Jessie Veium (12-1) has stepped up on short notice to challenge Wiuff for his 205-pound divisional title. Veium is currently on an eleven-fight winning streak, including ten by submission. His last fight was on October 12 at the Madtown Throwdown 13 event, where he defeated Justin Schwer by first round submission.
